Well hey, that’s natural. The first step is, of course, to accept who you are.. I know full well this is may not be what you want because you’ve heard it a million times before. That you’re beautiful and pretty, and each time it feels like a lie and you just can’t push that feeling away. But, I think the second step after that is to figure out if you’re perfectly content to stay exactly the way you are, and feel as beautiful as anyone on earth without changing a damn thing (because you are) or if you’d like to reach for the stars and achieve your own ideal body because let’s face it, everyone does have one when it comes to our own image. Some realise they have it already, and some want more of themselves.

Before I was injured and had all of this time off of work, I worked with a young lady we’ll just call Sarah. Sarah was coming off the bad end of a horrible relationship and came to me because she wanted to change the way she felt about herself. She took all of her negative emotions and put it into a structure, and ultimately achieved every goal she set for herself because SHE wanted to. She stumbled at times, of course, but she picked herself up because SHE wanted to. She never even knew she had that kind of willpower inside of her.. A fire, river, ocean of strength set deep within ourselves to continue to strive and stride in great lengths to achieve what we thought to be impossible.

Now, this strength does not have to be used in this way. It can always be used just to accept yourself as how you came. Which is just as healthy as any other option. Self consciousness is a mind set, a mind set you let go off and forget that moment you hit the chorus with your friend in the car, or dance in the shower or smile at yourself in the mirror.. All of these things are testaments to the sheer power we all have inside of ourselves to control the outcome of our emotions and mind. The only thing I ask of you all is to never forget how wonderful you all are. And even though I may not know you at all, not even a letter in your name, I love you all very much.

What would have once sounded like a “far-fetched feminist fantasy” – women forming the majority of a parliament – is a reality in Rwanda.
In fact, women are making gains throughout Africa, but these achievements have been met with a loud silence from the western feminist movement.
African women are blazing a feminist trail - why don’t we hear their voices? (The Guardian)

bc western feminists only want to take about africa when it makes us feel superior. when do you suppose the US will see a majority of political leadership being female? not in this lifetime.
